  • Recorded 10 total tackles against Holy Cross (9/7), at Elon (10/12), and vs Rhode Island (10/19).
  • Recorded 10 tackles and an interception against UAlbany (11/2).
  • Recorded first forced fumble and fumble recovery of the season against Monmouth.
  • Recorded eight tackles against Stony Brook (11/16). 
  • Finished 2nd on the team in tackles (111.0) and 6th in the CAA.

AT YALE

2023: Named to 2024 NFF Hampshire Honor Society member … Phil Steele Ivy League First Team … New England Footall Writers All-New England Team … All-Ivy League First Team … 2023 William V. Campbell Trophy semifinalist … ranked second on the team in tackles (55) … made one of the biggest plays of the season, knocking away a pass on fourth down in the second overtime to secure Yale’s win over Princeton and help Bulldogs go on to league championship … team captain … 

2022: First team All-Ivy selection… Named to the New England Football Writers Association All-New England team…Tied for the team lead with 63 tackles… Had one sack and six tackles for a loss… Made 11 tackles and had a sack vs. Holy Cross… Named to NFF Hampshire Honor Society.

2021:  Earned All-Ivy Second Team…Placed third on the Bulldogs with 26 solo tackles and fourth with 47 total tackles…Finished a strong year as Yale’s top corner with eight pass breakups and two picks…Named to Ivy League Honor Roll on Oct. 30 as he had a game-high three pass breakups, led Yale with nine tackles and knocked away Columbia’s final pass attempt which sealed the victory for the Bulldogs.

2020: No season due to COVID-19.

2019: Served role as a reserve defensive back and special teamer.

At Yale, a computer science major who served as President of the Zeta Psi Fraternity, Eta Chapter … volunteer with Team Impact …  in the summers of 2022 and 2021, he interned at GoDaddy, where he developed a front-end web application using JavaScript and created CI/CD pipeline leveraging AWS, Kubernetes, Helm and Docker.

During the pandemic, Owens was a Medical Assistant at First Call Urgent Care in Clarksville, Md., where he registered patients for Covid-19 testing. He also served as a courier for the Centennial Medical Group in Maryland, delivering Covid-19 tests from a testing site to a lab.
