- Position Quarterback
- Class Senior
- Ht./Wt. 6-3 / 220
- Hometown Dallas, TX.
- Highschool Highland Park HS
Player Profile:
Overall Grade: 65
Strengths:
- Short accuracy
- Throws with touch
- Consistently evades free rushers with wiggle and decisiveness
- Keeps eyes up field while scrambling
- Quick trigger throwing on the run
- Sees the field well, doesn’t throw into coverage
Weaknesses:
- Lack of arm strength
- Inconsistent aim with his hips and arm on intermediate throws
- Tendency to drift away from the pocket
Scouting Report:
Crafty scrambling quarterback with short accuracy from the pocket, lacking consistent aim/ball placement and throw power in the intermediate to deep areas of the field. Schager’s strong suit is throwing in the quick game and scrambling outside the pocket. He throws with a lot of touch but a lack of zip when needed to thread passes into tight windows. Schager has a tendency to drift as a part of the offensive scheme, making his play from the pocket and truly quickly hitching underdeveloped. Schager is seen constantly evading defenders and getting outside of the pocket with excellent timing to initiate action and wiggle away from defenders. Schager does keep his eyes up field while scrambling but lacks the consistent accuracy and zip outside the pocket. Schager sees the field well and does a good job of not throwing into traffic but will have limited production as a passer due to his physical tools and inconsistent accuracy and aim point in his hips. Schager will likely be a camp body in the NFL, while also looking to be a starter in another football league.
