Overall Grade: 58
Strengths:

- Ability to recover and anchor vs power
- 4 year college starter
Weaknesses:
- Stiff mover
- Poor pad level
- Limited punch pop
- Erratic, disconnected hands leading to missed punches
- Tendency to overset outside and get beat inside
Scouting Report:
Formidable short range pass protector due to his ability to absorb initial contact but lacks the physical and athletic tools to move defenders in the run game and stop more athletic/finesse pass rushers. Holstege Is a stiff uncoordinated mover that leads to lack of gap-to-gap range to poor hand placements. Holstege is able to have an impact initially at the point of attack with of a strong core to upper body. In the run game Holstege takes on defenders with poor, high pad level. This leads to lack of leverage, power and drive downfield or laterally once engaged with a defender. Holstege’s best shot at the next level will be as a guard in a power/gap scheme where he can make an impact at the point of attack with his strength along with improved punch pop, placement and timing. |
