- One of the most clutch quarterbacks in the nation, he was named the Pac-12 Newcomer of the Year by the Associated Press, first-team All-Transfer by On3 and The Athletic and All-Pac-12 honorable mention by the coaches and College Football Network. He was also named second team on the All-NFF Colorado Chapter team and named CU’s newcomer of the year across all sports at the school’s CUSPY celebration.
- He started and played in 11 games during the 2023 season and in essentially 10-and-a-half games with injuries mounting, he was 298-of-430 (.693) for 3,230 yards and 31 touchdowns with just three interceptions. Taking out sacks, he rushed 111 times for 394 yards and team-leading four touchdowns.
- He led the nation in second half passing yards per game when he was 150-of-209 (.718) passing for 1,954 yards, 18 touchdowns and just one interception for a rating of 177.76.
- He was the only quarterback nationally with more than six touchdowns (he had 11) with no interceptions in the fourth quarter when he was 67-of-92 (.728) passing for 1,039 yards with those 11 touchdowns and no interceptions.
- On third-and-10-plus, he had a nation’s leading 16 first downs hitting 30-of-40 (.667) passes for 400 yards and two touchdowns.
- On fourth down, he was just one of two quarterbacks in the country to have a first down on every passing attempt and on his 5-of-5 passing he had 99 yards and two touchdowns on the down.
- He set new CU records for passing yards in a season (3,230), completion percentage (.693), touchdown-to-interception ratio (9-to-1) and interception percentage (.007), and was second in passing touchdowns (27), second in completions (298), attempts (43), third in QB rating (151.7), and third in total offense (3,153)
- He finished in the top 10 nationally in four statistical categories and in the top 25 in three others, finishing second in completions per game, fourth in passing yards per game, eighth in completion percentage and 10th in points responsible for while also coming in 12th in passing touchdowns, 18th in total offense and 24th in pass efficiency.
- He also set new CU records for most yards in a season and career through one, two, three, four and five games.
- He had one 500-yard, two 400-yard and five 300-yard games, the 510 yard performance to open the season at TCU the most in CU history and first 500-yard game. That game was the only 500-yard game through October in all of FBS and finished second most in any game throughout the season and also became the most yards and total offense (478) aginst a ranked team in CU history.
- In the season opener against No. 17 and defending national runner-up TCU, the Buffs prevailed 45-42 as he was 38-of-47 (.808) for 510 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions. He set nine school records, including passing yards in a game (510), best completion percentage with 30 or 40 attempts (.809), best pass efficiency with 40 or more attempts, most completions (38) by a junior, most touchdown passes (4) by a junior, most passing yards (510) by a junior and most yards of total offense by a junior and in a first game at CU with 478. It was also the first time in CU history more than two receivers had 100-plus yards receiving and four accomplished the feat. He earned three national player of the week honors by Walter Camp, Davey O’Brien and the CFPA.
- Against Nebraska the following week, he was 31-of-42 (.738) for 393 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions and in week three, he was 38-of-47 (.808) for the second time in three games, this time with 348 yards with four touchdowns and one interception. He orchestrated one of the best drives in school history, taking the Buffs 98-yards in the final 2:06 of the game down. Down eight points, he was 5-of-6 passing for 106 yards on that drive, hitting Jimmy Horn Jr. on a 45-yard strike with just 36 seconds left in the game. He then hit Michael Harrison for a successful two-point conversion to push the game to OT where the Buffs eventually won 43-35 in double overtime.
- He had an outstanding game against Southern California when he was 30-of-45 (.667) passing with 371 yards, four touchdowns and one interception.
- He had his second career 400-yard game against Stanford when he was 33-of-47 (.702) for 400 yards with a season best five touchdowns and one interception.
- Midseason he was named to the All-Transfer Team for The Athletic and after being named to the Davey O’Brien midseason watch list, he earned a QB Class of 2023 honor from them and was one of 20 semifinalists.
- Preseason he was named to the watch list for the Maxwell Award, Doak Walker Award and Earl Campbell Award, ranked the No. 4 draft-eligible quarterback by Lindy’s, the top transfer quarterback by ESPN and CBS.

- 247 Sports rated him a .9200 as a transfer and a four-star prospect as the No. 21 overall player in the 2023 portal rankings (as of 12/19) and as the fifth-ranked quarterback.

AT JACKSON STATE (2021-22)
- Played two seasons at Jackson State, establishing himself as one of the best players in college football.
- He helped JSU to a 23-3 record as the starting quarterback, including a perfect 16-0 mark in SWAC games.
- Jackson State won two SWAC championships, the school’s first since 2007, and first two appearances in the Celebration Bowl, known as the HBCU National Championship game.
- Holds Jackson State records for season passing touchdowns (40), and completions (344), and is second for passing yards (3,752; record 3,808).
- In two years as the starting quarterback, he completed 616-of-901 passes for 6,983 yards and 70 touchdowns with just 14 interceptions, while adding 157 yards and nine rushing touchdowns.
- Sophomore season he was 344-of-488 passing for 3,752 yards and 40 touchdowns and six interceptions leading JSU to a 12-1 record and SWAC Championship.

TRINITY CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL (2017-20)
- Played four years of varsity at Trinity Christian under coach Andre’ Hart.
- In his high school career, he completed 805-of-1,238 passes for 12,627 yards and 166 touchdowns, compiling a 47-5 record, recording the 10th most wins at the prep level.
- As a senior, Trinity Christian was 9-3 when he completed 251-of-366 passes for 3,702 yards and 43 touchdowns and led TCC to the 2020 TCAL National Championship.
- Junior season, he was 244-of-331 passing for 3,477 yards and 47 touchdowns, adding 94 rushes for 255 yards and 11 touchdowns, helping TCC to a 13-1 record and third straight Division II state championship in the TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools).
